[Pulse] It's hover bike day.

Tadashi had made a point of trying not to depend on Bending too much. Bending was an amazing tool (a lifesaver in many cases, both literally and figuratively) and Tadashi devoted quite a lot of time to improving upon his own, but he was careful not to let himself become too reliant on it for every day activities. Bending made things faster and more convenient, but it also made it easy to overlook details and take what used to be difficult tasks for granted.
But man, this all would've gone a lot faster if they could've still used Bending. They'd been nearly finished before leaving Nautilus, forcing the Hamadas to begin their project from scratch. No blueprints. None of the coding Tadashi had spent weeks painstakingly stringing together. No raw materials to start with. Just pure determination coupled with whatever time and money they could spare to bring the childhood dream to life, but it was finally finished.
The hover bike was complete.
Tadashi sat back in his chair, blinking at his computer screen as the last scan ran its course. There had been a few test runs within the lab, of course, mostly slow circles to test lift and balance while Hiro bounced impatiently from wherever he'd perched to watch, but this was really it. The last of all the careful testing and adjustments that Tadashi could think of before there was no other option than to just take the bike out and fly. Just a few more seconds and- there it was.
"... We're done."

Caesar loves to ask a million questions, and that has never changed. He wants to know everything! Tadashi had told him that they were going on the first run, but now Caesar wants a report!

"I didn't push her past fifty, but she should be able to pass eighty with no problem. Didn't really want to try it with Hiro on board."

Date: 2016-11-21 04:21 am (UTC)"We wouldn't want him to get any ideas," Caesar agrees with the reasoning completely, knowing that Hiro will just want to push it to the limit if he remembered just how fast the thing could go. "I knew you two could do it."

Date: 2016-11-21 05:18 am (UTC)He'll help with all sorts of other ideas, but the ones involving flying through the streets at highway speeds with his little bro on board and no seat belts? Yeah, those aren't happening, but speaking of...
Tadashi's wide, happy smile turns a bit mischievous, and he tips his head back in the direction of the door.
"Wanna take a ride?"

Date: 2016-11-22 02:24 am (UTC)The offer makes Caesar brighten immediately. Does he want to ride fast?
"You're asking the guy who built a spaceship capable of going 99.994% the speed of light. Of course I want to take a ride!"

no subject
Date: 2016-11-26 04:03 am (UTC)He's joking. Maybe. You never know with Caesar.

"Sorry, no such thing as a helmet that doesn't ruin hair, but sometimes sacrifices have to be made in the name of science." He reaches up to ruffle up his own hair further, leaving him with a look that would be very Hiro if only he grew those locks out a few more inches.
"Give in to the dark side. We have cookies and safety equipment."
